This one-hour experience invites guests of all ages to step into the pasture, meet our miniature Highland cattle (and their quirky companions), and connect with the animals in a relaxed, hands-on setting. You’ll brush shaggy coats, learn their names and personalities, and snap memorable photos that will last a lifetime.

Let your little one become a ranch hand for a day. The Mini Rancher Kids’ Adventure is a joyful, interactive experience designed for children ages 3 to 12 who love animals and want to learn what it’s like to care for miniature livestock on a real working ranch.
From brushing shaggy coats to helping with feeding time, kids will get hands-on with our miniature Highland cattle, goats, and more — all while learning the basics of ranch life in a safe, age-appropriate, and unforgettable way.

Meet the Minis
Children are introduced to our fluffiest residents — including Mini Highlands, Dexter, and High Park crosses. They’ll learn fun facts and get to know each animal’s unique personality.
Feeding Time
With gentle guidance, kids help prepare and deliver feed while discovering what keeps our animals healthy and happy.
Brush and Bond

Ranch Realities is an immersive, full-access, hands-on adventure at Chasing Dreams Ranch where you’ll get up close with miniature cattle, goats, and horses and experience what it truly takes to raise and care for them. This isn’t a polished tour — it’s a roll-up-your-sleeves day full of sweat, mud, feed, and yes, even a little poop.
You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at how we care for the land, manage daily routines, and handle the responsibilities that come with raising these incredible animals. If you’re serious about getting your own herd — or just want to understand the lifestyle — this is for you.
What You’ll Experience:
- Meet and work with our Miniature and Micro-Miniature cattle, including Highland, Dexter, High Park, and Belted Galloway crosses
- Learn to halter, lead, and groom miniature cattle — and yes, you’ll get to wash and blow-dry their luxurious coats
- Feed the herd and talk through daily nutrition and feed planning
- Spend time with our miniature horses, brushing and practicing basic handling and hoof care
- Care for and observe our mini goats, including feeding and maintenance tasks
- Explore pasture design, fencing setups, shelter needs, and barn space

We started in our 40s and 50s with limited experience, a lot of questions, and a dream to raise and care for miniature cattle the right way. What we didn’t have back then was an experience like this — a place to learn hands-on, ask the real questions, and actually get to do the work.
So we built it.
The Hands-On Herd Health Experience is the one we wish we had. And now it’s here for you — whether you're just starting to explore the world of mini cows or you're getting serious about building your own herd.
This is not a tour. This is full immersion. You won’t just observe — you’ll be part of the team. From drawing blood to running ultrasounds, from evaluating goats to brushing miniature horses, you’ll experience what real herd care looks like.
This is one of the most unique, behind-the-scenes livestock experiences in Texas — designed for aspiring cattle owners, future breeders, FFA and 4-H students, pre-vet learners, and anyone who wants the confidence that comes from doing the work, not just watching.
What You’ll Experience:
- Blood-based pregnancy testing: Learn how to draw blood, handle the cattle safely, and test for pregnancy using highly accurate lab-based methods.
- Reproduction and ultrasound: Help prep and position cows for live ultrasound scans. Learn how we confirm pregnancy and monitor development. It’s unforgettable to see a calf growing in real time — and know you helped find it.
- Genetic testing and chondro education: Participate in chondro testing and learn how this key genetic factor influences health, breeding plans, and calf outcomes.
- Miniature goats and horses: Feed, handle, and help care for our miniature goats and mini horses. You’ll gain a better understanding of daily care, feeding, and grooming routines for each species.
- Full ranch tour: Explore our 90-acre working ranch. We’ll show you our fencing, pasture management, water systems, and infrastructure — and explain how everything works together to support our herds.
- Ownership Q&A: Over a brown bag lunch, we’ll have a real conversation about costs, care, time, breeding, and planning. Ask anything. Get the kind of honest answers that only come from experience.
